Our Mission
Sisters Following The Way (SFTW) was started by two sisters for the sole purpose of feeding and serving the disenfranchised and homeless populations. On June 20, 2014, SFTW became an approved 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, and all expenses are paid by the two sisters and through donations.
Through the years in working close with and feeding the homeless, it was clear that food was not the only necessity that they needed to survive, but they were unable to provide themselves. Some of the population that SFTW serves are struggling with mental health issues, domestic violence, and alcohol/substance abuse. These disenfranchised and homeless populations needed advocates and additional services such as food, clothing, housing and emotional support. We have been doing our best to help supply these services to those we are helping.
Additionally, pets have become a growing concern for SFTW. There are more and more disenfranchised and homeless people that rely on their pets for protection and companionship. So in keeping up with the needs of the people served, SFTW organization is now working towards feeding the pets and supply the owners with the essentials to take care of a pet.
We do not set goals or standards for these individual’s life style, and we do not require or solicit them to change their life style. SFTW does not discriminate nor does it pass judgment on anyone served. Some of our challenges are reaching out to help, but not to interfere with their lifestyle choices. SFTW is not the cure all to these social problems but is a helping hand to some. Helping others who are less fortunate is our main objective.
